Something in the air

Hawthorn leaves - fresh and green - are starting to emerge on those trees that catch the sun along the West Highland Way. Soon the woods will be transformed. Pick some next time you are out and try their pleasant nutty flavour. Collect some for a salad. The crocuses on Park Road across and down from Saint Andrews are in full flower, hazel buds are fattening up nicely and daffodills are starting to come out here and there. Further afield in Glencoe, frogs line the back road along past the Clachaig Inn and go a courting.
